250314 My Story

My Story If I should write the story Of what Christ's done in my life  I'd tell how he's been with me Through all triumphs, through all strife I'd tell of how he gives me strength  When have none of my own He's my constant companion  Even when I'm all alone  I'd share how he's my comforter When I'm scared or when I mourn How he knows me so completely  Since before was even born Explain how I can count on him He's faithful to his word How everything I've shared with him I know that he has heard My story would include the ways He's loved me endlessly Though I did not deserve it Or when I did not love me I'd tell of how he's lit my path When I have lost my way Or patiently waits my return When stubbornly, I stray I'd share of how he blesses me With friends and family Provides for me in endless ways So I have all I need My story would not be complete Without praising his name If not for Jesus in my life Nothing would be the same T...

240430 The End

The End Each new beginning marks the end Of something else, that's true Yet, every ending's not a thing To necessarily rue Though endings can be sad affairs Tis not always that way For often times a thing must end For new to come in play What young child doesn't count the days Until the end of school Or teen anticipate the end Of strong parental rule For, end of school means summer's here From studies, take a break And end of teens begins the steps Independence now must take Likewise, a wedding day marks end Of searching, single life But, beginning of the journey  As a husband and a wife And working days will reach an end No matter what career  Then, days begin quite differently When retirement is here All through life, things come to an end It simply is life's way So cherish each season you're in For all will end one day No matter your life's journey  On the Lord, you can depend So begin each day with joyful praise To the God who knows no end If on earth yo...

A Reflection on the Daily Office Readings Genesis 19:1-29 In Genesis 19:1-29, we witness the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah due to their grievous sins. Lot, Abraham's nephew, faced a critical choice between righteousness and succumbing to the immoral culture of the cities. Despite residing in Sodom, Lot's righteous soul was tormented by the wickedness around him. God, in His mercy, rescued Lot and his family before unleashing judgment.
